Taste of Roanoke

Started in 1993, this annual fun night-on-the-town with lots of food and live entertainment has become a much looked forward to event sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce. The 3rd Saturday of August, it features local restaurants, non-profit organizations and civic groups serving specialty food items outside on downtown Main Street. The event has the feel of a neighborhood block party with families and attendees of all ages dining, dancing, and chatting; enjoying their food and renewing friendships. With grills going, food cooking and live music filling the air, Main Street is alive with action and fun for dinner.

Items served for the evening usually include such goodies as: grilled tenderloin sandwiches, barbecued ribs, gumbo, Wagyu (Kobe) beef burgers, roasted chicken, corn on the cob, sloppy joes, ice cream, gelato, smoothies and more! The prices range from $1.00 to $7.00 and there is no admission charge.

Bring your dancing shoes as the live entertainment is an upbeat, toe tapping and high energy sound with street dancing good times.

Proceeds from the event go to the Roanoke Chamber of Commerce scholarship fund.
