Description:

From Harvest Festival Website:

The North Manchester Chamber of Commerce holds its annual fall festival, Harvest Festival, the first Saturday in October. Sponsored by the NM Chamber Tourism Committee, the festival offers a schedule of events that celebrate the autumn season, in addition to quality craft and specialty food vendors all in the downtown Market Street area. The committee works hard to ensure a nice variety of options for families that attend the event, said Chamber Executive Director Tim McLaughlin. There are always many things to do throughout the day. Crafts, pumpkin painting, great food options, a petting zoo, a hay ride, a 5K run, and a cow milk contest are just a few of the highlights of the day, McLaughlin added.

Festivities begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue throughout the day until 3 p.m. and include such harvest-themed events like a cow milking challenge; a petting zoo, pumpkin painting, horse and wagon rides, and a Guess the Animal's Weight contest. Craft booths will be open along the sidewalks from 8:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Hayrides will be offered from 9 a.m. 12 p.m. Registration for the kiddie tractor pull will begin at 12:30 p.m.; start time 1 p.m. Pony Rides by Animal Grams will be Market Street from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. As well, a community breakfast will be held at the Congregational Christian Church from 7-10:00 a.m. Again this year is the Learn More Center's Feel the Learn 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Learn More Center. The event begins at 9:00 with registration running from 7:45-8:45. You may also register online at www.********.*** .

Also included during the day is the Farmers' Market, from 8 a.m. 12 p.m. on corner of Wayne and Main Street. In addition to the fresh produce offered at the market, festival-goers can sample the flavors of autumn with culinary treats like apple dumplings, grilled tenderloins, pulled pork BBQ and more all in the downtown North Manchester area.

The Harvest Festival is sponsored by the NM Chamber Tourism Committee, a division of the North Manchester Chamber of Commerce. For more information on Harvest Festival 2013, or for details on becoming a festival vendor, contact the North Manchester Chamber of Commerce,
