| Description: | The Earth Day Indiana Festival moves to White River State Park, Sat., April 24, 2010. The Earth Day Indiana Festival moves to White River State Park in 2010 Growing interest in the environment, more and better exhibits and larger crowds left the Earth Day Indiana board of directors with an important question: Where do we go from here? The Earth Day Indiana Festival moves in 2010 to White River State Park in downtown Indianapolis. Plans are in place to host the event at the site for at least the next four years. White River State Park provides space for the festival to grow in an area surrounded by some of central Indiana's best tourist attractions â the Indianapolis Zoo, Indiana State Museum, Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, NCAA Museum and the Indianapolis Indians. Exhibits will be displayed on celebration plaza (number 14 on the map below). With the river behind them, bands will play from a soundstage on the park's natural amphitheater. Walkways along the central canal provide visitors scenic access to and from the site. We are very excited about the new venue and the next Earth Day Indiana Festival. Our sponsors, exhibitors and volunteers will play an even more important role in the next festival. We'll be sending updates and posting more soon at earthdayindiana.org. | |
